The members of Mumford & Sons are having fun with all of the attention they are getting lately. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the band was discussing ideas for their third album. They are thinking about exploring new sounds. What kind of new sound? Front-man Marcus Mumford replies:
"Like, hip-hop. We really want to rap. We've just got so much to say – saying it through a melody doesn't really work for me. We've been talking with Jay-Z about it, you know. It's gonna be a fresh experience for our band."
Do not expect a hip-hop album from the folk rockers. The band is known for a sarcastic sense of humor. But, the band is definitely looking forward. At their shows, the band sets up space to rehearse ideas for new songs.
But, according to banjo player Winston Marshall, "it might take a few years than it took to make Babel."
