In this constantly changing world, it’s nice to have some solid consistencies. Sarah Jessica Parker will always be Carrie Bradshaw and Russell Crowe still comes to us in our dreams as Maximus inGladiator.
But our present realities weren’t always a given. In fact, actors from some of our favorite shows are only known for a TV show or film because another A-lister turned down the role first.
Sarah Jessica Parker helped define a generation of single women in her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw. But the part was originally offered to Desperate Housewives star Dana Delany (who also turned down the role of Bree Van de Kamp).
The actress claimed to not want to be associated with a show about sex. Big mistake.
