I am the girl who has jumped off the deep end and fallen in love with fashion. I love prancing around town in an outfit that fits my body and personality. You can find me on the clearance racks of H&M and Express (two of my fav stores) and at your local thrift store. I love fashion but not breaking my pockets, so I’m always on the hunt for deals and steals!

I am a lover of all things fabulous and fashionable (but affordable). In my former life I was either a major diva or sensational drag queen. Not quite sure of which one, but my love of MAC make-up, accessories, music, hair and need to overly exaggerate has followed me to this life. I am a chameleon, so my style and hair is always changing to fit my multiple personalities. I am a reality/sitcom TV and celebrity gossip junkie as well.
Last night was the premiere episode of season 12 Project Runway. Lifetime’s Emmy nominated reality series calls for budding fashion designers from all over to compete for a chance to display their designs at the prestigious New York Fashion Week. This year brings a new judge, Zac Posen, interactive ability during the show, more Tim Gunn and yes, 16 new designers.
Among the mist of introductions, egos and the return of a previous competitor we learn that one designer is from the city of Raleigh! 27-year-old, NCSU assistant professor at the College of Design, Justin LeBlanc who is born and raised in Raleigh, NC is one of the 16 (now 15) designers competing for the grand prize. One thing to note about LeBlanc, besides his pleasant smile, is the fact he is deaf. Though a defeat for some, he doesn’t let his inability to hear get in his way.
“While growing up, I always knew that I was a designer, although I didn’t realize that fashion design was my calling until college. Being deaf has made me a more visual person. This naturally drew me to finely crafted designs. I began my formal training in architectural design but soon realized that fashion design provided me greater opportunities to express my
creativity” said LeBlanc on the project runway website.
As he worked quietly and diligently in his workstation, it’s hard to believe that this is his first time auditioning for Project Runway. But having interned for Alexander McQueen and Nick Cave, as well as two degrees under his belt, LeBlanc is a contender to watch for. Noting that
Mondo is his favorite past designer, LeBlanc says he actually enjoys the dreaded team
challenges and also feels he can be this seasons winner.
“I KNOW that I can win "Project Runway." I have the skill, the passion, the drive and the knowledge needed to win…I do believe that I have the ability to inspire others; that’s a big thing in my book as a designer”
