I am the girl who has jumped off the deep end and fallen in love with fashion. I love prancing around town in an outfit that fits my body and personality. You can find me on the clearance racks of H&M and Express (two of my fav stores) and at your local thrift store. I love fashion but not breaking my pockets, so I’m always on the hunt for deals and steals!

I am a lover of all things fabulous and fashionable (but affordable). In my former life I was either a major diva or sensational drag queen. Not quite sure of which one, but my love of MAC make-up, accessories, music, hair and need to overly exaggerate has followed me to this life. I am a chameleon, so my style and hair is always changing to fit my multiple personalities. I am a reality/sitcom TV and celebrity gossip junkie as well.
So, the stripe trend is nothing new. Regardless of the fashion season or year, stripes will continuously make their appearance into the fashion world. This simple pattern has been spotted on the runway shows of Paul & Joe, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs and of course the ever so preppy Ralph Lauren. One thing to keep in mind about stripes are, contrary to belief, everyone can wear them. HOW you wear them is where the problem arises. Curvier, full figured women should stick with vertical stripes while women with a small frame should wear horizontal to give a curvy allusion. Here were a few looks I thought would be good to incorporate in the everyday woman’s wardrobe. Click on any of the links to purchase the link!
The Essential Sweatshirt
You simply cannot go wrong with a cotton sweatshirt. Perfect for the transitional weather between winter and spring, this stripe sweatshirt looks good with just about any bottom. H&M has it for only $12.95
Anyone who doesn’t like blazers is completely mad. Blazers take even the simplest look to the next step. This adorable blazer plays well into spring with a light pink hue and ¾ sleeve length. Check it out at Forever21.com for only $29.80
The Trendy Top
Target consistently has current or favorable fashion trends that are friendly to the consumers’ pockets. This striped peplum top is not only sought after because it categorizes off of the ever so popular peplum trend, but it incorporates an up-coming trend as well. This top could be worn now and well until the spring, summer months. Plus for only $17.99 who could pass this up?
Trousers are always a good investment because they never go out of style. So why not go for a striped trouser pant? These high-waist striped trousers are from American Apparel and really make a statement. There are endless possibilities with this option. They are priced at a hefty $78, but sometimes you have to pay for quality!
If you’re not as big into the striped wardrobe as some are, there is always the option of sporting striped accessories. Instead of pants, try a shoe. Not into heels? Go for the flats. Printed accessories always add to an outfit. So try one of the above shoes or a variation. I’m sure you’ll get compliments! The flat is from Ann Taylor for $78 and the heel is Charlotte Russe priced at $35.50
A striped purse is another way to stay trendy without going full throttle. A nice handbag is a good way to merge into seasonal fashions. If you have a little extra to spend the Kate Spade bag on the left is $298 while those on a budget might want to shoot for the ModCloth bag on the right for only $54
