Coach Mike Rice was fired just 24 hours after ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” aired video footage showing him verbally and physically abusing his players during practices.

The footage was revealed by former director of player development Eric Murdock, who was fired in July by Rice and Athletic Director Tim Pernetti. Murdock first showed Pernetti the footage back in December, but Pernetti chose to only suspended Rice for three games and fine him $50,000.

Murdock plans on suing Rutgers for wrongful termination.

Alabama Fan Harvey Updyke Jr, who poisoned the Toomer’s Corner oak Tree at Auburn
University two years ago, was sentenced to three years in prison for criminal damage of an agricultural facility.

The former Texas state trooper pleaded guilty and will have to serve at least six months in jail
and will spend five years on supervised probation. He also received a $1000 fine, will have a 7pm curfew, and cannot go onto Auburn’s campus or attend a college sporting event.
