Two Diamond Princess Cruise Passengers Die from Coronavirus

Japan's health ministry said Thursday that two elderly passengers on the Diamond Princess cruise ship have died from coronavirus.

The official who spoke anonymously also confirmed that both of the passengers had been hospitalized after their condition became serious and had previously existing chronic conditions. There were identified as an 87-year-old man and an 84-year-old woman.

The passengers are the second and third coronavirus deaths in Japan. According to data, 621 of the 3,711 quarantined passengers and crew on the ill-fated ship have the virus. That makes the cruise ship the most infectious site besides China. (USA Today)
